I love my children. I love having two kids. Heck I love when they drive me crazy because it just means they are alive and healthy to drive me crazy. I am so grateful for my Lucy and Joseph I just can't imagine life without them!

2 years old!!!
My baby boy is two! That's so crazy for me. I have a two year old. Heck I have 2 kids! We didn't do a whole lot for josephs birthday since well I just barley had a baby and wasn't going to be up to doing a whole lot. Since my sister Nikki came up the week I had Lucy, her daughter Miri is only 9 days younger then Joseph my family did a little joint b day party. lori, samantha, and my parents chipped in and bought Joseph a woody doll (he loves anything Toy Story) Nikki got him a Mister Potato head he loved both of them! Woody the most of course. we had all this fun stuff planned for Josephs birthday but Tanners work messed up his PTO and he had to work until like 3pm but at least he was able to get it off. Tanners sister Mallory threw Joseph a little Toy Story themed party. It was cute. Tanner and I decided to just do one nice gift for Joseph and we got him a Buzz light year. Joseph was so excited about it (next time we'll be sure to take the gifts out of the box before hand) but he looked so cute patiently waiting (as much as a 2 year old can) for daddy to open it. He also got an angry birds hat from mallory, a bronco pillow pet from grammie and a pirate hat, eye patch and hook from papa. He loved it all. He was so excited about all the toy story decorations and everything. It was cute! He still loves his woody and buzz although woody is his favorite! (which I'm glad about)
Joseph is getting so big. We're still working on potty training. Put him in real underwear today and not even an hour later he pooped in it (right after I had just taken him to the bathroom) I decided that was super gross so he went back into diapers and only peed once in his diaper the while day! He now talks to himself a third person. (ex. "josephs cracker, joseph too? No mamas (no not mamas) josephs milk" I love it though I love hearing him talk oh so much! My baby boy is growing up!
Oh and terrible twos is HORRIBLE! but I love him none the less and thank God everyday for sending him to Tanner and I.

Lucy's Birth Story
The first time Joseph met Lucy. He was SO sweet!!!
Mommy Joseph and Lucy
Joseph was very curious to see what was going on and just kept say "yummy arm"
Our First family picture. (dang labor fat face! haha)
Joseph was very curious to see what was going on and just kept say "yummy arm"
Our First family picture. (dang labor fat face! haha)I didn't get this up as soon as I want, but I figured I NEED to do it before I forget about it. Hopefully I can remember everything.
So I was induced so that I knew for sure that Tanner could be there with his work schedule, and my mom could be there with me as well. I was measuring pretty small I guess at my 38 week appointment so my ob set up an ultra sound the Thursday before I went in. Just to make sure my due date was right. Everything was perfect, she was just going to be a tiny thing, but that was expected since Joseph was tiny as well.
Sunday my mother in law took Joseph for the full day, so I spent it sleeping and spending the last "me time" I'd have in awhile. (Tanner works sundays) When Tanner got home from work we went right to bed. I actually had to turn my ipod in and listen to it to stop thinking about what was going to go down the next day. My labor experience with Joseph didn't go to good. (At the hospital setting up for Lucy the nurses were looking at Joseph and said they were surprised it didn't end up in a c-section) eeek. Anyways being pregnant and all you have to go to the bathroom like every 5 min. Finally at 6am after I went to the bathroom, AGAIN, I knew I wasn't going to be able to go back to sleep, so I turned on friends low so Tanner could sleep. It ended up he was awake and we just both kind of layed there thinking "holy cow we're having another baby. We'll have TWO kids" finally I got up and ate. showered. Shaved my legs because who knew how much pain I'd be in after delivery and when the last time I'd be able to shave again. haha. The morning seemed to DRAG since we weren't scheduled to go in until 12pm. Finally time got closer and I HAD to have a caramel hot chocolate from moxie Java. Tanner then got lunch at subway and we headed to my parents house so Tanner and my dad could give me a blessing.
After the blessing, Tanner, my mom, and myself headed to the hospital.
they got me all settled in and then they were having computer problems, they just kept coming up with my delivery with Joseph and couldn't get a new chart up (that's when they told me they were surprised he didn't end up a c-section)
Finally one of the nurses checked to see if I was dilated yet. (they said .5 cm) I wasn't happy, I had been having HORRIBLE contractions for weeks and at one point thought I was actually going into labor.
My ob finally came in about 12:30 and talked about using a pill they'd put in my cervix to soften it up. Then said hopefully I'd have her before midnight. (sigh that's why I was hoping for a 6am check in.) They said they weren't going to let me walk for awhile just to make sure Lucy took contractions good. One of the nurses (one that actually was there when I was in labor with Joseph to begin with) she put the pill in and said I was actually a 1cm the other lady was off.
So 1pm cervix put in.
LONG LONG LONG sitting around and being impatient. Its a good thing we brought my friends series. my ob had told me he'd check on me again at 5pm. SIGH. about 45 min after the pill contractions started but they weren't painful for me at all. They came and checked on me at 3pm I was only a 2 cm. It was long and boring.
about 4:45ish my ob came in and checked me himself I was only a 3cm. I wished so much they let me walk around I would of progressed more. Lucy wasn't having any problems at all with contractions. He then talked to me about breaking my water for me or starting pitocen. He asked what I wanted and I just responded with "well what would you suggest?" I didn't want to be the one to make the decisions he knew more. He suggested pitocen so that my cervix could soften a bit more. Once the pitocen started that meant NO walking at all. So I then requested to use the bathroom. I get up and realized there was blood everywhere and the nurses were excited because I had my "bloody show" it was pretty gross actually.
at 5:09pm they started the pitocen. I knew only because we asked haha.
I had requested my epidural then not because I was in any pain but because it was halloween and the nurses said it could take them awhile to get down here.
At 6pm they came and checked on me again still only a 3cm SIGH
They then informed me that an anesthesiologist called up to see if any ladies were in labor and they came and did mine.
I had it in about 6:15ish well he came to do it then. He had a hard time getting it in. (as did the one who did mine with Joseph) I just don't relax easily I guess.
By this time I got new nurses and a girl Leah I knew since like 7th grade ended up being my push nurse. (I'm not going to lie it was a bit awkward for me. Like REALLy awkward. haha)
Oh before I wanted them to put the epidural in I told them I had to use the bathroom so SUPER SUPER bad, but they told me to wait. Then the epidural was in and they wouldn't put the catheter in until I was more numb. ( I really really had to pee) finally they put it in. They came back saw the bag and said "wow you really did need to use the restroom" (Duh I wasn't just saying it)
8:35pm they came in and checked me. only 4cm... but they broke my water then
more waiting waiting waiting. they came and checked me again at 10:40pm only 5cm. (the 2nd labor I was hoping to go by SO much faster) but Lucy was doing good and that's all that mattered.
I noticed I could then move my legs and it scared me. I did not want to feel labor, I do not do good at all with pain and I'm to much of a wimp but It just ended up feeling my legs not any contractions. (oh about 9:30ish I decided that I should involve my mother in law in this. She wasn't able to be there for my sisters in law and she had seen me deliver Joseph so I figured all has been seen.) I invited her and she was more then happy to be there, even though she had to be at work the next morning.
finally 11:15 they come in and check me. I was between a 6-7cm sigh. My dad was texting my mom going "hahaha she won't have her halloween baby" but I didn't care about that I just wanted my baby girl here and done with the whole pregnancy/labor thing. plus a baby on 11/1/11 would be cool. Leah then had me go onto my left side.
Right then I started feeling contractions and pain. I was NOT happy, I just complained I shouldn't be feeling any of this at all. It was close and hurt worse and worse. about 5 min later I asked her to check me again. I didn't feel any need to push but the pain was hurting. guess what I was a 10cm and ready to push. She went and got my ob (he had just been waiting. I think he was the on call doctor that night) They didn't even have me do any practice pushes.
So my sister calls at 11:28pm (she was impatient and wanted to know details my mom said "she's about to push call you later") well then they have my mom take one leg, my mother in law take the other and tanner hold my hand (per my choice) My OB didn't even bother sitting down they tell me to push and said "theres a head" told me to push again shoulders. Lucy was born at 11:34pm I seriously didn't even push for 5 min! my mother in law was just amazed as was my mom. My mom then got to cut the umblical cord. (Tanner was not interested in it at all). All I could do was look and make sure she was a she. once I saw that she was a she I laid back, they put the towel on me and I got to hold her RIGHT away (I didn't get that with Joseph) She was amazing. so beautiful had a little cry. I got to kiss her and look at her. I felt so close to my Heavenly Father then. He trusted me with another one of his little spirits and I couldn't be happier. :-D I just started tearing up. (I had a friend (who had the same ob as me comment on how her and her husband always wondered why men decided to go into this medical field. our ob was a man. But her husband said that once he delivered their baby daughter the smile on his face said he even then thought about experiencing that.) So I made sure to look at his face and he had just the biggest grin. After they took Lucy to get her checked and all that the first question I asked my ob was "did I tear" I tore HORRIBLY BAD with Joseph and was not looking forward to that again. He had yet to check but shortly after just said "nope no tearing you're just a little bruised" WOO freaking HOO!!! Can I just say the whole not tearing or anything is AWESOME, all I had to take was ibprofen. :-)

Just a bunch of randomness
It's been a long time since I have picked up my computer and blogged and just did it all on my phone app. which I then don't end up REALLY blogging. So here is a REAL blog with probably lots of pictures, we'll see if I'm up to all of it.
Lets start with my wonderful husband Tanner:
He is now working for customer loyalty for T-mobile call center. Unfortunately since this was a new job in a new department he ended up having to do closing shifts for 6 months. So he would leave for work at 1:30pm and not get home until about 12am. Which really messed with all our sleeping schedules. He now has a new shift which is 4-10 hour shifts so he works; Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday... from 10-9 so he's home about 9:45pm which I prefer so much more! We have a love hate relationship with this schedule we love it because I get him all to myself Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays. We hate it because well church is at 9am Sundays. he leaves for work at about 9:15am to be at work by 10am. So needless to say he'll be inactive in our ward for the next 6 months :-( Luckily though there is a church super close to the call center so on Sundays he leaves like an hour earlier so he can get to their sacrament and take the sacrament and sit for a talk or two before he heads to work. That I'm glad about because with the Boise temple now closed for at least a year we can't get down to Twin Falls to go do sessions there. Having a kid kind of makes it harder that's a long time for a babysitter and well really I don't trust anyone with my kid besides grandparents. Anyway so with him on this shift go figure he didn't get a new shift until after school started and so we didn't know what schedule he was in because he wasn't going to just get the first one he picked so he wasn't able to sign up for pictures. Hopefully next semester he can get back into school. Can I just express how much I love my husband? he sacrifices so much for us so that I am able to stay home with our son and soon be be daughter. Hopefully soon though things can get all figured out and he can do all he wants and needs, and gets a job he loves.
Next me;
Well I am 33 weeks pregnant. The time has seemed to go fast yet slow ALL at the same time. However I'm ready for it to speed up and get it all over with. Being pregnant with a toddler isn't easy, I just find myself all the time tired, and not being able to do all the things I want to do with Joseph. Plus I'm one of the unlucky ones that gets the lovely morning sickness all 9 months instead of just the first few. My morning sickness has hit hardcore again. It never fully went away but it did ease up to where I was only sick in the mornings. But whats one to do? I wanted all this again I guess I shouldn't complain to much. So it turns out with your second kid because your muscles aren't as strong as they are with the first one you end up carrying lower and I just feel like everything is bruised as of late. Bummer. But Lucy (what we are naming our daughter) is one strong little girl! :-D So Tanner and I were talking and well because of work there isn't really much of an option for me just going into labor on my own if I want him and my mom there (who also works at T-mobile) I am one of those girls that can't do it with out my mom. I want her there to help me walk and hold my hand when I'm in labor. Anyways so Lucy is due Nov. 5th but we have needed to talk to my OB about induction earlier because well I want my husband and mom there so we needed long in advance for them to get time off of work. Well Joseph turns 2 on Nov. 9th and I kind of wanted their birthdays some what spaced. My husband being as fun as he is requested a Halloween baby. So we talked to the OB and he will induce me early morning on Halloween. I know I have friends who aren't for induction and epidurals but you know I did it with Joseph and everything went fine, and we feel it's best for this next one too. So come Halloween we'll (hopefully) have our little girl with us. Tanner and I are kind of in shock and excited at the same time. Why we are in shock you ask? Well, our (mostly mine and Josephs hospital visit wasn't exactly a grand experience. I never got medicine when I needed it. No nurses helped me with Joseph like when it came time to feed if my mom wasn't there I would of had No idea what to do. No help what so ever. When it came time for Josephs pediatrician to check on Joseph they didn't contact him until HOURS after I asked them. They said we could go home at like 5pm. Well 8pm came and they were then trying for the pediatrician to come. Then go figure they discharged us at 11:45pm. Lovely huh? I'm tired, SORE, grumpy, and scared. We're new parents. It was COLD middle of the night and we are leaving the hospital with our newborn baby. All I wanted to do was go home crawl into bed and sleep... well guess what? that didn't so much happen, Joseph was screaming non stop. I was in pain and emotional, Tanner was in pain and emotional and we found ourselves just not happy with each other. He wanted to help but of course neither of us really knew what to do with this little 6lb baby. I couldn't get him to latch on right and I was frustrated. We were living with my parents at the time waiting to move into our new house that we had just got approved for the day before my mom said that she would help me whenever I needed it but I just felt bad. She had stayed with us in the hospital the whole time we were there and didn't sleep much because anytime Joseph cried, she was more then willing to get up with him in the middle of the night so I wanted her to sleep. But with him non stop crying and me with NO sleep at 5am I ended up bawling to my mom begging for help and sleep which more then willing she did. (she's the best) Our good friends who aren't parents yet just asked us to be truthfully honest and what was the thing that we didn't expect and was the worst for us. We both just said the first night home. Anyway well Tanner and I are just not looking forward to the whole hospital experience again. But this time there is new management and I know what to expect and will be more demanding on when it comes to help and won't let them discharge us so late. I did tell my mom this time around she doesn't have to stay the night with us. She has a week off to help, and my sister Nikki comes to town for the first week also. The in laws will take Joseph for us for a night or two and will take him trick or treating which will be great, we won't have to worry about him to much. That's pretty much all "new" with me. Just waiting for little Lucy to make her appearance! I still can't believe I'll be doing it all again. The nursing, the midnight feedings, the burping, the figuring out what they want they need. Yet I'm excited!
Now for our Jo Jo Idaho Potato
He went from This...

To this in what seriously seems like a Blink of an eye
Seriously what happened to my little boy? How is he already 22 months? he's going to be 2!!!! He is talking SO much. Tries to copy all the words I say, he knows animals pretty good and what noises most of them make. It kind of makes me sad how fast he's growing up. So he LOVES babies loves holding them and pretending to take care of them. I know he's going to be a great big brother. However I don't think he really understands what changes are going to come up. He is SUCH a mama's boy and soon he's going to have to share me with his little sister. When I ask him where Lucy is he'll tap my belly and give it a kiss but always has a look like "um mom that is not a baby" we'll see what he thinks once shes out.So being a parent its a learning experience as you go. I now know what to watch what I say. I got sick of Joseph calling my boobs "babies" all the time and I would just say "no that's a boob" well guess what his new favorite word is? yeah you guessed it BOOBS. woops. he points at mine all the time. Points at ladies and says "boobs, boobs, boobs" woops. whats worse is when I take my bra off, he some how gets a hold of it and it ends up on his head and he walks around the house going "boob hat, boob hat" yeah um.. ooops. It is pretty funny but its embarrassing when it is in public that he starts talking about boobs. So fyi parents just watch what little things you say because it could become your kids favorite words to say. Josephs new obsession is HATS, he LOVES the Toy Story movies and loves woody. His birthday theme is going to be Toy Story and I'm going to make his side of the room kind of Toy Story themed. I don't mind to much because I actually wanted him to love Toy Story but we took him to the 3rd movie in theaters and since then he LOVES it. It's pretty cute. and he LOVES hats like I said but he chooses bowls, and buckets to be his hats but will walk around all day long with something on his head. If he falls he'll start crying and I'll be all worried and check on him. Guess what he was crying about? yeah his hat fell off. and he just goes "hat, hat, hat, hat" but once he gets it back on he's good to go. Luckily its not so bad that he doesn't have to sleep with a hat on.
Alright I wrote like a novel. most of it just rambling so I'm going to get off. Thanks for reading!
P.S. Oh I didn't mention that for the first time ever Tanner and I are reading the Harry Potter books. (about time yeah i know) But we LOVE them!!! We are in the middle of the 5th book and are wishing we had more time to just sit and read with each other. Once we finish them up, we're going to do a little Harry Potter movie thing. and I'm going to learn how to make butter beer haha. I hear its yummy... oh question that I have in the books is it real alcohol for them? Dobby the elf just talks about Winky getting drunk and Tanner and I don't know if its real beer or not. Anyways. just had to share that!

Pregnancy and more
Well I'm 26 weeks along. Time seems to have flown by, but now that I realized how fast it was going time has stopped. The summer heat is getting to me. I'm so ready for cold weather and sweaters. Thankfully with this pregnancy though I'm not gaining a lot of weight like I was with joseph. I was hoping to keep up my walking everyday but mourning sickness and the heat don't like each other. Thankfully though i'm not nearly as sick as I was with joseph. Yes I still throw up almost everyday but not like I was with joseph. Anyway what's new with the barkers... Tanners schedule is about to change. Unfortuently he no longer has sundays off. He'll be working 10am-9pm sunday, monday, wednesday, saturday. The good news is no more him getting home at midnight and he'll have 3 days off with us. I just hope him not being able to go to church won't affect him to much. Joseph is growing everyday. His vocabulary is expanding. I love though when he's trying to tell people something i'm the one that has to explain exactly what he means but some words are crystal clear. I don't like my baby growing up so fast but I've yet to figure out away to stop him. Other then that nothing much is new with the barkers. Hope you are all doing good!

Happiness
I can just say how much I love being a mom? Joseph is the light of my life! Sure he may wear me out or drive me crazy at times. But I wouldn't change any of it for the world. He is just the sweetest always willing to give kisses when needed. when he is really in need of cuddle time with mommy and I mean serious cuddles he crabs a blanket and comes up and we cover up and relax. He also is very independant when he's outside and I check on him he barley looks up as he starts to wave his hand and telling me "bye". My new favorite thing is does is when its time to say a prayer we tell him to fold his arms and instantly his head is bowed and he starts rambling then end with a "men" it does get embarrassing at church though when he's doing it during a prayer but he's just to cute! I love being a mommy!

Been awhile
Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile not much is really new here. Just busy taking care of my crazy 17 month old. Hoping to start potty training soon! We'll see how that one goes! Joseph is learning new words each day. Is favorites are "pwease (please) how (help) bad boo (bad boy) daddy, ma ma, gapa (grandpa) and his new favorite one is the good ol "no no no no no" he used to just shake his head no but now he will do both. He says a lot more words but that's what he says the most. Oh he is learning "oh man" ha it's pretty cute! He will only eat things now if he has a fork but its funny because he will try with the fork and then eat it with his hands. But he's learning.

Joseph being a goof with daddy's hat haha he put it on himself, (before we took the binky away)
Joseph took one of my crochet hooks and was picking up honeycomb with it and eating it. It was funny
Just a nice day that Joseph wanted to go outside, but wouldn't walk by me had to be in front of me just all around the cul de sac it was cute. I wish it didn't snow anymore so we could do this more.
Hi my name is Dani and I have a problem, I still sleep with a stuffed animal, it actually was comfortable for me when I was pregnant ha Tanner doesn't like it lol. but mine is the big giraffe (my favorite animal) Joseph kept taking it from me so I gave him two little ones. still not good enough he took mine away haha
Joseph with his puppy Scout, he was dancing to the music.
