A very Merry Christmas!!!

Well first I'd live to say thank you for all those that served our country this Christmas and 2008 year!!! All those that had to miss out spending it with their families and working Christmas eve weather your a solider or a doctor or just someone who work just couldn't spare them thank you so VERY much!!!
So my Christmas started up really early and I mean like 5:15 early!!! ha ha I set my alarm clock that early just to tease Tanner thinking that's how early i wanted to wake up. But once it went off and i hit snooze he was basically jumping on the bed for me to wake up (he was excited for his x box that he knew he was getting from me) I did try to beat him off with the stuffed giraffe but didn't work. so we headed out to open presents. When i realized it was raining it made me quite sad :( But it ended up snowing a lot in the morning anyway! :) But Tanner let me open a couple of my presents first due to the fact that all his were at my parents except his x box so the first one i opened i got the musical "Bye Bye Birdie" you have NO idea how much I have wanted to see that movie since Skyview put on the play that was AMAZING!!! but then next i opened the "gold box" in it was a teddy bear cute and soft and inside the teddy bear you zip it open and tadda my new lovely CTR ring!!! Its not real but I love it SO much!!!
He opened his next present which of course he knew what it was and I still had to take a picture of him opening it because I know how excited he was for it like a little boy.

Next I got my movie Walle' one of my new favorite movies!!! well we were done opening presents at the house the rest of ours were at my parents house so before we got ready to head over there I was so tired, and NOT a morning person at all. so i took about a half hour nap while Tanner set up his x box and played some games it came with! Well as we headed to my parents house and has I'm texting my mom telling her we're on her way she's saying all the little kids and siblings were still sleeping (7:30a.m. you'd think the little ones would be up early) But on our way I thought it so special driving my houses seeing lights on and shadows knowing little kids were excited to see what Santa brought them! Tanner even saw a little boy jumping up and down! It made me really think of how amazing its going to be to make my kids look SO happy for everything. No matter how big or small the presents are. So I get there and talk to my mom for awhile then not being patient decide at 8:00 to start waking up all the lazy bums. I decide first to wake up my dad so they didn't have to wait for Grandpa to wake up before they could go down stairs. so next was the nephews with their daddy (my brother Scott) and I'm yelling "come on its Christmas Santa came!!!" So finally everyone wakes up but my sisters being such girlie girls won't go down stairs until their hair looks good and their teeth are brushed driving 6 year old Preston and almost 3 year old Nic CRAZY! Preston was SO tired and telling me how Santa's Reindeer kept them up so much because of their bells. especially Rudolf's and his HUGE bell... (later i found out my dad had been using bells while moving around down stars to give that illusion) well we all opened presents in turns and drove the little ones crazy Nic once finding each present he had loved and didn't want to open anymore because he wanted to play with all the other ones. well I got my pots and pans from my mom!!! I'M SO EXCITED FOR THEM!!! Also we just barley got my temple pictures back and my mom blew one up and framed it for us! and then Tanner's present the "big one" were my beautiful PINK PEARLS!!!

Tanner knows me way well!!! I was so sad to take them off at night! ha ha... anyway finishing up at my house being able to see every one's faces for their great presents and being there with my husband was just SO wonderful! our first year married!!! Well after breakfast and trying to relax we head over to my in laws and Tanner excited to play his games with his brother (games as i had gotten him American idol game for his x box and my mom got his rock band which he said "I for sure married the right girl!" ha ha) but anyway his parents are amazing! They got me a beautiful Pink Sweater that screams me! and pink earrings with a matching necklace (well technically the necklace and earrings were from Santa. but Santa does understand if i don't wear the jewelry for a VERY long time if i decide to wear my pearls as much as possible! Oh also "Santa" being tanner this time was so sure he was getting an x box bought me a controller so I can also play! which i do plan on making it girly!!! tee hee... well we spent time playing Tanner's brother Preston's new guitar hero's world tour. Then we headed to the movies (the barkers do this every year and this was my second year with them) we went and say seven pounds and I'm not going to lie it was way good. a little weird and confusing but i did LOVE it. and want it. i do recommend seeing it. even though i did cry in it. ha ha. well tanner and i then went home after a long Christmas day with family, we both wanted to watch a movie "Guys and Dolls" which tanner also got me for Christmas we got about 10 minutes into it then we both decided 9:30 bed time sounded SO great that we both had to work in the morning. but first I wanted to take pictures of the gifts Tanner got me so i could always remember our first Christmas married.

All Tanner got me was the movies "Guys and Dolls", "Walle", a set of "A White Christmas" and "Its a Wonderful Life" my favorite Christmas movies. and "Bye Bye Birdie" in my stocking I also got the 15Th Anniversary addition to John Bytheway talks I love him and his talks and am a HUGE fan of him!!! He also got me hat scarf and gloves which i am a huge fan of also. there is also my controller for Tanner's x box and my lovely CTR ring and pink pearls.
This was a great Christmas!!! The biggest one Tanner and I will do for each other until we become "millionaires" ha ha. The only down size of this Christmas was my phone decided to die on me :( So now I'm phone less but will eventually be able to get another one. I hope you all had just as great as one with home and all. But don't forget about the blessing we all receive and God and Jesus Christ. If it wasn't for his birth or sacrifices we wouldn't be where we are today! God Bless you all!

So it's time!!!

Well It's Christmas time and I'm SO excited that its Tanner's and mine first Christmas as husband and wife!!! We just got done celebrating Christmas eve with his parents and some of his siblings. It was great but different. (not in a bad way) but i ended up finding myself in tears being this was my first Christmas eve away from my family. It was a little hard but I think tonight will be a rememberable Christmas eve with my hubby and wonderful new family!!! We started our real Christmas eve after tanner got home from work and got ready, we headed to my in laws and just kinda relaxed until things could get situated and i tried to help cook, but Sandi just wouldn't let me, tee hee. well Tanner ended up getting his x box game he got for his birthday (that little stinker found out his Christmas present) so him and his brother started playing that and Mal and i just kinda relaxed until we found out a little problem with the movie tickets they had gotten earlier that it was to early for Aubrey and Tyler because his family had a party i think? well not a problem Mal and i set out to change the times which we thought would be hard but it was easy and it gave Mal and i good time to chat. i think we almost covered every base with everything. well we headed to my house to grab some boots for her that i said she could have since well they didn't fit me, and we now have decided with in the next week we're going to build a snowman in my back yard I'm SO excited!!! anyway by the time we got back it was ready for dinner, and as we sat down it was really nice getting to chat with the family afterwards all the children helped clean up so momma wouldn't have to worry about it. then we sat down when it was all done and non of us kids were able to hold in our excitement for the present we all chipped in for Sandi. (we got her a kitchen aid and we knew how much she has always wanted one) well once she opened it and saw what it was she screamed in excitement it was SO amazing!!!! i almost cried because it was just so happy... she even did a happy dance!!! (Aubrey got all the kids to pitch in husbands and wives and she did a good job with it!) well after that they do a sorta family home evening and it was just so spiritual and wonderful listening to stories... the whole time i was missing my family yes, but i have this new wonderful family and its just all amazing!!! well now I'm back at home can't sleep because I'm SO excited for Christmas tomorrow!!! Tanner and i decided to go all out this year on presents since maybe next year we may have a little one with us and so i feel like a 5 year old waiting for Christmas morning not able to sleep. tanner is here sleeping right beside me and I'm wide awake. So my family has a tradition to where we open one Christmas gift and i had talked tanner into letting me open one all week, but as we got home i resisted and decided to well just let that tradition die until we have kids of our own. so now i'm SUPER excited for our gifts!!! I got Tanner an x box, American idol game, a heating blanket two Joseph smith books and stocking stuff. I know Christmas isn't about presents and well I'm just So grateful for tanner I'm grateful for his family. Its all a new blessing to me and i just want this year to be amazing!!! I'll put pictures of my Christmas decorations. the first year for the tree and stuff was pricey but at least we won't have to worry about it next year and i did a LOT of crafts and this is what i came up with.
Our tree!!! Tanner putting on the star (we were watching frosty the snow man while decorating it.
My window i had put lights around the window and window stickers but the lights didn't make it for even a week with it being cold and the tape not sticking but that's okay
Our tree lite up!!!
Our presents which are mostly under my parents tree now since that is where we'll be opening presents. our big ones stayed here.
I put garland (green and red) around the door frames, (i actually got this idea from my lovely mother in law) with ribbons on the side. its like that for my kitchen entry too.
You seriously have GOT to love the dollar store!
Falala snowman!
the only nativity set i have, but i got it at the dollar store and it works just great!
Now this i am most proud of due to the fact that it took me a week to make!!! its made out of different kinda candies and ribbon! the famous Christmas wreaths!!
The Sleight family tradition! it started with my mom wanting her own little village, and then every thanksgiving we get her more pieces to her village may it be people or houses, and she always said that once we get married she'll start it off with our first set and husbands and kids would have to pick up the tradition. she bought me 3 houses, and i got 3 more at Walgreen's cheap. Tanner the wonderful husband he is bought me little people and really put thought in it. here is my village for the first year! A tradition i plan to keep on going, maybe even get the in laws in it and start some of their own! well merry Christmas eve everyone!!!

Tanner's and mine house

Well its been awhile since I've been on. I'll tell you what its just SO hard to find relaxing anytime when your working full time and you just want to relax. but any who, so I've been trying to find the right time to take pictures of tanner's and mine home (for about the first year of marriage anyway) and so now i can. ;)
Our little cute 2 bedroom 1 bath home... we have a TON of snow, i guess we got good drift this year.
When you walk in the front door you see this! our cute little fake Christmas tree that i LOVE tanner put a TON of lights on it, he's like his mom and likes the lights and as do I. But this is his first time with fun flashy lights. anyway. all the floor is wood and the entertainment center lovely Vanessa gave to me as a wedding present.
Now when you turn left you get into our little but wonderful kitchen. (here tanner is making yucky coconut shrimp my mom gave him) but we have no dishwasher and with no counter space it kinda hard to do dishes but we do fine. behind the stove is a hallway that we have for our laundry room. we got a really good deal on a washer and dryer which makes it way easy!
From the Kitchen you take a left and you go through a doorway on the right is our bedroom. its Small but we manage it there is my vanity that my wonderful mother in law got me. she's amazing. the closet was only big enough for my stuff so tanner uses the spare bedroom's :(
Alright when you turn around and go down the hall you take a right and here is our cute but small bathroom. basically we have room to shower and to brush our teeth hair and stuff i use my vanity tanner has room to stand and do his thing.

well take an immediate right and you have the spare bedroom, that obviously you can tell I've yet to organize this room, basically its just everything that doesn't fit in our house. we have a futon I'm trying to sell along with an extra TV I'm trying to sell. but hopefully tanner's and mine work life will be able to slow down some and i can get to it.

So that is our house, i have yet to get pictures of our backyard but its not all that grand. i wish we were aloud to have pets though. tanner would get his bull dog he's dying for!!!
