So it's time!!!

Well It's Christmas time and I'm SO excited that its Tanner's and mine first Christmas as husband and wife!!! We just got done celebrating Christmas eve with his parents and some of his siblings. It was great but different. (not in a bad way) but i ended up finding myself in tears being this was my first Christmas eve away from my family. It was a little hard but I think tonight will be a rememberable Christmas eve with my hubby and wonderful new family!!! We started our real Christmas eve after tanner got home from work and got ready, we headed to my in laws and just kinda relaxed until things could get situated and i tried to help cook, but Sandi just wouldn't let me, tee hee. well Tanner ended up getting his x box game he got for his birthday (that little stinker found out his Christmas present) so him and his brother started playing that and Mal and i just kinda relaxed until we found out a little problem with the movie tickets they had gotten earlier that it was to early for Aubrey and Tyler because his family had a party i think? well not a problem Mal and i set out to change the times which we thought would be hard but it was easy and it gave Mal and i good time to chat. i think we almost covered every base with everything. well we headed to my house to grab some boots for her that i said she could have since well they didn't fit me, and we now have decided with in the next week we're going to build a snowman in my back yard I'm SO excited!!! anyway by the time we got back it was ready for dinner, and as we sat down it was really nice getting to chat with the family afterwards all the children helped clean up so momma wouldn't have to worry about it. then we sat down when it was all done and non of us kids were able to hold in our excitement for the present we all chipped in for Sandi. (we got her a kitchen aid and we knew how much she has always wanted one) well once she opened it and saw what it was she screamed in excitement it was SO amazing!!!! i almost cried because it was just so happy... she even did a happy dance!!! (Aubrey got all the kids to pitch in husbands and wives and she did a good job with it!) well after that they do a sorta family home evening and it was just so spiritual and wonderful listening to stories... the whole time i was missing my family yes, but i have this new wonderful family and its just all amazing!!! well now I'm back at home can't sleep because I'm SO excited for Christmas tomorrow!!! Tanner and i decided to go all out this year on presents since maybe next year we may have a little one with us and so i feel like a 5 year old waiting for Christmas morning not able to sleep. tanner is here sleeping right beside me and I'm wide awake. So my family has a tradition to where we open one Christmas gift and i had talked tanner into letting me open one all week, but as we got home i resisted and decided to well just let that tradition die until we have kids of our own. so now i'm SUPER excited for our gifts!!! I got Tanner an x box, American idol game, a heating blanket two Joseph smith books and stocking stuff. I know Christmas isn't about presents and well I'm just So grateful for tanner I'm grateful for his family. Its all a new blessing to me and i just want this year to be amazing!!! I'll put pictures of my Christmas decorations. the first year for the tree and stuff was pricey but at least we won't have to worry about it next year and i did a LOT of crafts and this is what i came up with.
Our tree!!! Tanner putting on the star (we were watching frosty the snow man while decorating it.
My window i had put lights around the window and window stickers but the lights didn't make it for even a week with it being cold and the tape not sticking but that's okay
Our tree lite up!!!
Our presents which are mostly under my parents tree now since that is where we'll be opening presents. our big ones stayed here.
I put garland (green and red) around the door frames, (i actually got this idea from my lovely mother in law) with ribbons on the side. its like that for my kitchen entry too.
You seriously have GOT to love the dollar store!
Falala snowman!
the only nativity set i have, but i got it at the dollar store and it works just great!
Now this i am most proud of due to the fact that it took me a week to make!!! its made out of different kinda candies and ribbon! the famous Christmas wreaths!!
The Sleight family tradition! it started with my mom wanting her own little village, and then every thanksgiving we get her more pieces to her village may it be people or houses, and she always said that once we get married she'll start it off with our first set and husbands and kids would have to pick up the tradition. she bought me 3 houses, and i got 3 more at Walgreen's cheap. Tanner the wonderful husband he is bought me little people and really put thought in it. here is my village for the first year! A tradition i plan to keep on going, maybe even get the in laws in it and start some of their own! well merry Christmas eve everyone!!!
